- A few Tbsp ice water
- Vegetable shortening for greasing pie pan
- 5 large egg yolks
- 1-1/4 c water
- 1-1/4 c granulated sugar
- 1/3 c + 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 c lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp lemon zest
- 5 large egg whites, at room temperature
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 c granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
