When choosing a wine you really should go from your personal preference. Taste the wine and consider its flavor and the flavor of the food you are pairing it with. Italian Spaghetti with garlic and oil Recipe

Who doesn’t like Italian Spaghetti? Try this delicious Italian Spaghetti with garlic and oil recipe, you will love it! It will probably take around 30 minutes to prepare and cook this wonderful recipe.

Shopping-List for Italian Spaghetti with garlic and oil:

    400-500 grams of Spaghetti

    4 tablespoons of olive oil

    5 garlic cloves

    1 onion

    A bit of salt (sea salt can also be used)

    Chopped parsley

    Grated Parmesan

Cooking Instructions:

    Cook the Spaghetti until they are ready to eat and let it drain.

    Add the garlic and olive oil sauce (instructions below), as much parmesan as you like and enjoy!

Sauce for Italian Spaghetti with garlic and oil:

    Heat the olive oil in your sauce-pan and add chopped garlic cloves and onion (chopped or cut into thin stripes).

    Steam until the garlic cloves are gold-brown.

    Add the chopped parsley and a bit of salt.

You can use any kind of Spaghetti with this recipe. Personally, I would recommend whole wheat spaghettis. They are healthy (contain a lot of fibers) and taste fantastic.

This recipe can be served as main course for 4 people. Green salad can be served with the Italian Spaghetti.

Years ago I wondered why people would always have corned beef dinners, but there was never any corn with the meal. It was always cabbage and potatoes. It was later in life that I understood what was meant by corning beef and it had nothing to do with corn. I used to think that corning beef meant to feed the cattle corn to fatten them up for butchering. I was mistaken.

Corning beef is a method of curing tougher cuts of beef. Choose cuts like plate, rump, chuck or brisket. Make sure the meat is well chilled. Remove the bones and cut the meat into uniform pieces. After the meat is cut up weigh the meat. For each 100-pounds of meat you will use 10-pounds of kosher salt. If you do not have 100-pounds of meat, adjust the proportions of meat to salt.

I use a clean crock. I sprinkle a layer of salt on the bottom of the crock, then a layer of meat, then more salt, then a layer of meat. I continue until the meat is packed or the container is full. I cover the top layer of meat with a good amount of salt. I let the meat sit for 24-hours then I cover the meat with a solution of: 4-pounds sugar, 2-ounces baking soda, and 4-gallons of water.

I make sure that I have packed the meat tightly and that it is completely covered with brine. I weight the meat down with a heavy. clean stone or brick to keep it submerged. I let it cure like that for 35-40-days in a temperature of 38-40-degrees. After the meat is cured, I remove it from the brine, wash it and drain it. Now it is ready for wrapping or smoking.

I put my beef in brine this morning. I added 4-ounces of pickling spice in a spice bag and 2-bulbs of garlic to the brine for flavor. That is my preferred flavor.

Be certain to keep the temperature at a consistant 38-40-degrees so the brine does not become ropy. If it gets too warm you will have discard the brine and start all over, which is a pain to do.

I will be cooking corned beef and cabbage for a meal in March. YUM!

Many people go on low salt diets because they think that it will improve their health, but a low-salt diet usually does not lower high blood pressure. What people dont know about chicken, is that it is made mostly of water. If a label on a bag of dog food says %60 whole chicken, that is quite misleading as that does not take into account how much of that %60 of chicken is left after baking it to remove unwanted substances!

When the label on the bag says %60 of chicken meal, your getting more of the chicken because the product has already been baked to remove unwanted affects such as bacteria.

Explanation:

Converting dry matter basis

This can be the hard part. All pet foods have different levels of moisture. Canned foods can have up to 80% moisture whereas, some dry foods can have as little as 6%. This is important for 2 reasons. The first is that the food is priced by the pound, and when you buy dog food that is 80% water you get 20% food and the rest is water. So the amount of food your pet consumes is small and expensive. The other reason for understanding percent moisture is to help you compare crude protein and fat between brands and between canned and dry. The listings on the label are for the food as it is, not as it would be on a dry matter basis. So without converting both brands of food to a dry matter basis you will not be able to compare them accurately. Fortunately, the conversion is not that complicated.

If a dry dog food has 10% moisture we know that it has 90% dry matter. So we look at the label and check the protein level that reads 20%. Next, we divide the 20 percent protein by the 90% dry matter and we get 22%, which is the amount of protein on a dry matter basis. Does this make sense so far? Good. Now let us compare this to canned food that has 80% moisture. We know that with 80% moisture we have 20% dry matter. The label shows 5% protein. So we take the 5% and divide it by 20% and we get 25% protein on a dry matter basis. So the canned food has more protein per pound on a dry matter basis after all the water is taken out. We can do the same for fat, fiber, etc.

So now we need to decide what we want to pickle. Wait, pickles are just made from cucumbers right? Right, but you can pickle a whole lot of other things, including fruits, other veggies, and sometimes even meats; pickling cucumbers is just the beginning. However, there are also many tasty variations of your classic dill cucumber pickles, my personal favorites being spicy garlic pickles. There are many other items that can make your pickling go much smoother, however, they are purely optional. They may just be able to make your life a little bit easier.

So now you have all of the items that you need to pickle, what’s next? Well for your first batch, it will be best to pickle cucumbers, they are considered the easiest items to pickle, and quite frankly they are the hardest to mess up. Your main ingredients will consist of vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard seed, and a few others, depending on the recipe. You are free to add items such as sliced onions, garlic cloves, bunches of dill, etc. Whatever flavor you want your pickles to have, is up to you and your imagination.

Once you have completed your pickles and sealed them in your pickling jars, the only thing left for you to do is wait. It normally takes from 4 to 6 weeks for the cucumbers to pickle, but it does not hurt to wait a little longer rather than shorter, just to be safe. Once the 4 to 6 weeks has elapsed, open up a jar, and enjoy your creation! Why stop there though; share your pickles with your friends, family, or even the people you work with. You will be amazed at how people react to homemade pickles. It is as if you performed some act of magic. But they don’t have to know how easy it was, so enjoy the compliments and definitely enjoy the pickles.

Once you have pickled cucumbers once or twice, you may want to try pickling something else, such as asparagus, or watermelon rind. Yes, you can pickle watermelon rind, and yes they are very tasty. The sky becomes the limit with what you can pickle, and how you can pickle it. Spicy carrot pickles, crunchy cucumber pickles, garlicky pickled eggs, the choice is yours.
