Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chana dal (yellow split peas), soaked for at least 4 hours
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 3 shallots finely chopped
  • 1 ½ tsp. minced ginger
  • ½ tsp. asafoetida
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 10-12 curry leaves, roughly chopped.
  • Oil for deep frying
